Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Warrior of Light
Golden warrior,
at the foot of an ashen fortress,
you are a flame
waging light into an abyss.
Your glowing wake
brands a narrow path,
through long shadows
of towers lost and rivers black.
You blaze a plated shield
forged in light and faith,
and flanked on your shoulders
are wings cast in fate.
Your aureate armor
submerged in soot and mire,
never bares mar or tarnish
but purification by fire.
Your guide is a fiery sword
blazing into the night,
and your heart, carved in ore
weighs the lives lost from light.
What hearts will you ignite
as embers from the dark debris?
What stray children of your king
will you uncover and set free?
